INGREDIENTS

Vitamin E - Tocopheryl Acetate

Vitamin E - Tocopheryl Acetate

Vitamin E is an antioxidant that protects body tissue from damage caused by unstable substances called free radicals. Free radicals can harm cells, tissues, and organs. They are believed to play a role in certain conditions associated with aging. Because of its ability to quench free radicals the term “protector” has been used to describe the actions of vitamin E. Studies have shown that vitamin E reduces UV-induced erythema, edema, sunburn cell formation, and lipid peroxidation. Clinical improvement in the visible signs of skin aging has been documented with significant decrease in skin wrinkling. This may be also due to the excellent moisturizing effect of vitamin E. While tocopherol is the primary active form of vitamin E, it's esters such as vitamin E acetate and sorbate have also been shown to be very active. Esters, however, need first to be converted into the more active form in the skin. It has been reported that vitamin E in combination with vitamin A produces increased storage of vitamin A when applied topically. This sparing action is another valuable benefit of vitamin E. These data validates the popularity of vitamin E as antioxidant, moisturizing and rejuvenating ingredient. Vitamin E skin care benefits: Helps to protect the skin from UV damage. Improves the skin texture and the moisture content in the skin. Reduces the severity of sunburns. Increases the effect of sunscreen ingredients. Inhibition of lipoperoxide associated skin disorders. Prevents of melanin deposits. Potent anti-inflammatory ingredient. Promotes hair growth. Improves the stability of cosmetics. Such a varied functional profile has paved the way for the use of Vitamin E in a wide range of cosmetic applications from an ingredient of quasi-drugs and other skin care products such as lotions, age-defying creams, sunscreens, and lipsticks. Various laboratory tests have shown that topically applied vitamin E plays a vital role in combating skin disorders such as premature aging and wrinkling.

Vitamin A - Retinyl Palmitate/ Retinol

Vitamin A is a fat soluble vitamin that is stored in our liver. It contributes to normal growth and development while keeping our eyes, skin and immune system healthy. Vitamin A plays a key role in maintaining health. Retinyl palmitate (vitamin A) is the normal form used for application on the skin and has great anti-ageing, superb anti-oxidant and moisturizing capabilities. It accelerates cell renewal and stimulates the fibroblast and collagen in the skin, thereby reducing wrinkles and fine lines. Due to its anti-oxidant properties, it is also a great anti-aging ingredient, and helps promote a softer smoother skin. The topical application of vitamin A on the skin, when formulated into creams and lotions has a host of positive effects on the skin, which includes: Increases the activity of enzymes found in the skin. Stimulates the mitotic activity in the epidermis and thereby helps with the process of cell division. Stimulates cell proliferation in the epidermis and thereby stimulates growth. Helps to thicken the epidermis, which becomes thinner in aging. Improves the elasticity of the skin. Helps to normalize photo (sun) damaged skin. Helps in wound healing. Stimulates collagen formation in the skin. Reduces UV-induced wrinkle formation. Regulates keratin formation. It is an anti oxidant. The inclusion of vitamin A in cosmetics have been proven and internationally accepted as being safe - but it must be noted that this refers to Retinol and Retinyl palmitate. The skin also readily absorbs topically applied vitamin A and this has been proven in various experiments. Exposure to sunlight – which includes both UVA and UVB radiation, reduce the amount of vitamin A not only in the skin, but also the blood.

Rosa Centifolia

Rosa Centifolia flower extract is an extract of the flowers of the cabbage rose, Rosa centifolia. It is classed as a biological product and is used as a miscellaneous skin-conditioning agent and fragrance ingredient. It is known as cabbage rose extract as well as rose extract. Rose flower extracts are most famous today for their alleged positive effects on the nervous system: calming anxiety, lifting mood and instilling a feeling of well-being and refreshing the senses. The aqueous extract also contains a bit of tannin as well as a bitter principle, which translates into it having a more toning effect, which is helpful in tightening the skin. Rose extracts also commonly used for skin enhancement by the cosmetics industry. Rose flower extracts have been shown, however, to improve mouth and throat inflammation, when taken internally. As well, due to their established astringent properties, they may benefit the skin by tightening, or tonifying it, when applied topically.
Rosa Centifolia

Lactic Acid

Lactic acid is most widely used in cosmetics for its ability to help the skin absorb the cosmetics and moisturizers better. It is also widely used for its ability to accelerate the skins natural shedding process as an Alpha hydroxyl acid. In doing this it promotes the healthiest skin making your skins appearance brighter and younger looking.

Green Tea Extract - Camellia Sinensis

Green Tea extract contains a unique cocktail of powerful antioxidants called catechins, which help fight damage caused by free radicals. Its anti-inflammatory properties in some cases can even neutralize the damage done by exposure sun. Moreover, green tea extract has qualities that can rejuvenate old skin cells, promote skin regeneration, and even wound healing. It’s known for treating skin problems including treatment of aphthous ulcers, psoriasis, rosacea, and actinic keratosis.

Carbohydrate

Carbohydrates are one of the main dietary components, includes sugars, starches, and fibers. Carbohydrates are classified as simple or complex. The classification depends on the chemical structure of the food, and how quickly the sugar is digested and absorbed. Simple carbohydrates have one (single) or two (double) sugars. Complex carbohydrates have three or more sugars. The primary function of carbohydrates is to provide energy for the body, especially the brain and the nervous system. An enzyme called amylase helps break down carbohydrates into glucose (blood sugar), which is used for energy by the body. Carbohydrates, or saccharides, are sugars and starches, which provide energy for humans and animals, and cellulose which make up many plant structures. Carbohydrates are able to absorb and retain water, under certain conditions. Some Carbohydrates remain on the surface of the stratum corneum, thus acting as moisturizing and filmogenic substances, which noticeably improve skin biomechanical properties. Carbohydrates have excellent performance of moisture maintenance and damping. The excellence is more obvious used in cleansing facial milk and all kinds of creams. Adding certain amount of Carbohydrates to cosmetics not only can prevent the moisture content in cosmetics from disappearing, but also make hydration to the moisture on the cuticle. Cosmetics with Carbohydrates are also easy to be absorbed by the skin, and can promote blood circulation. Moisturizing agents are compounds, which contribute to maintain the skin water-balance. Moisturizers contribute flexibility to the stratum corneum; they facilitate desquamation through their action on corneodesmosomes and affect the lipids, which exert the barrier function. Filmogenic agents are macromolecules, which remain on the stratum corneum surface, where they retain water and improve the barrier function. Carbohydrates like Starch, Cellulose, Glucose, Lactose, Sucrose, Sorbitol, Mannitol, Honey and more are being used in cosmetics, mainly in moisturizing complexes.

Vitamin C - Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate

Vitamin C, also known as ascorbic acid, is a water-soluble vitamin which is essential for normal functioning of the body. Unlike most mammals, humans don't have the ability to make their own vitamin C. We must therefore obtain vitamin C through our diet. Vitamin C is considered to be a potent antioxidant. It is required for at least 300 metabolic functions in the body, including tissues grows and repair. It has been shown to increase collagen production (including dermal collagen, which is significant for wrinkle reduction), reduce the appearance of skin discolorations, strengthen skin’s barrier response, enhance skin’s repair process, reduce inflammation, and help skin better withstand exposure to sunlight, whether protected by sunscreen or not. Vitamin C comes in many forms, with ascorbic acid being the most common. Other forms of vitamin C include magnesium ascorbyl phosphate, L-ascorbic acid, tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate, ascorbyl palmitate, ascorbyl glucosamine, sodium ascorbyl phosphate, ascorbyl glucoside, and ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate. Vitamin C skin care benefits: Protect skin cells and skin’s support structure from UV-related damage. Improve the appearance of sun-damaged skin. Strengthen skin’s barrier response. Reduce inflammation. Promote collagen production. Enhance effectiveness of peels and microdermabrasion. Lessen hyperpigmentation (at levels of 5% or greater). Boost the efficacy of sunscreen actives. Helps to achieve whiter skin and reduce age spot.

Pro Vitamin B5 - D-Panthenol, Ethyl Panthenol

Pantothenic acid, also known as vitamin B5, as well as the "anti-stress vitamin" is part of the B group vitamins and classified as a water-soluble vitamin. This nutrient can be manufactured in the body by the intestinal flora. Pro Vitamin B5 or D-Panthenol has been used for years in hair care products because it functions as a Humectant that increases the water content of hair and improves its elasticity. D-Panthenol is inactive but is readily converted to pantothenic acid in the skin. Pantothenic acid is then incorporated as an important component in the energy cycle of the cell. Panthenol can also attract water into the upper layer of the skin and is thus effective as a moisturizer and softener. Moreover, Panthenol can promote epithelization thereby enhancing the regeneration of the skin. Using a combination of Panthenol, niacinamide and vitamin E produced improvements in skin tone and texture as well as fading darker areas on the skin. Pro Vitamin B5 benefits: Anti-Aging Properties - Panthenol soothes, softens and moisturizes the skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Its exfoliating properties fight free radicals and promote new skin cells to consistently regenerate, offering a more youthful, fresh appearance. Skin care - Panthenol is used to strengthen fingernails and smooth the skin, offering plumping and moisturizing benefits that penetrate the upper layer of the skin's surface. Containing healing properties, it is effective in soothing and moisturizing dry skin and healing cracked skin. Panthenol helps the skin and other body tissues maintain optimal health and promotes healing of tissues as well as taking part in metabolism of fats, proteins and carbohydrates, leading to healthier tissues, cells and organs. Panthenol, works by being absorbed into the skin. The key with Panthenol is keeping that moisture underneath the surface of the skin. This moisture absorption has the effect of “filling out” the area to which it is applied, naturally stretching the skin, erasing fine lines around the eyes and mouth and reducing severity of wrinkles. When used as part of a daily skin care maintenance system, Panthenol can make a big difference in the overall look of your skin. Panthenol has also shown to help in the treatment of many skin disorders and afflictions. Medicines that contain Panthenol have been used to treat everything from minor skin irritations to major scar damage. Panthenol has many uses and is beneficial in all these ways without having any negative side effects whatsoever. Any over abundance of vitamin B5 that the body doesn’t use is released as waste from the body.

Amino Acid

Amino acids play central roles both as building blocks of proteins and as intermediates in metabolism. The 20 amino acids that are found within proteins convey a vast array of chemical versatility. The precise amino acid content, and the sequence of those amino acids, of a specific protein, is determined by the sequence of the bases in the gene that encodes that protein. The chemical properties of the amino acids of proteins determine the biological activity of the protein. Fundamental constituents of all proteins found in the body, such as: alanine, arginine, asparagine, aspartic acid, cysteine, cystine, glutamic acid, glutamine, glycine, histidine, isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, proline, serine, threonine, tryptophan, tyrosine, and valine. Some of these amino acids can be synthesized by the body; others, the essential amino acids must be obtained from protein in the diet. In skin-care products, these types of ingredients act primarily as water-binding agents, and some have antioxidant properties and wound-healing abilities as well. Because of the low molecular weight of the amino acids molecules, theypenetrate the surface layers of the skinand are a naturally hydroscopic material, which hasexcellent moisture binding qualitiestocondition the skin. When amino acids are applied externally in the right formula and also taken internally it can improve the skin’s ability to stay hydrated. Properly hydrated skin not only takes and holds cosmetics better, but looks and feels more youthful. In talking about amino acid skin care, there are four main acids that are known to be an effective combination in building collagen. These acids are Proline, Glycine, Leucine and Lysine. Together, this formula acts as an exfoliate, works to improve moisture retention and also acts as an antioxidant, thus strengthening your skin even in harsh weather conditions.
